Details:
Sara Lee Corporation is a global manufacturer and marketer of high-quality, brand-name products for consumers throughout the world. With headquarters in Chicago, Sara Lee Corporation has operations in 55 countries and markets branded products in nearly 200 nations. The corporation employs 145,800 people worldwide.
The Cruz Verde Legrain Division of Sara Lee manufactures air fresheners for the home and motor vehicles and also insecticides in glass bottles. Their requirement was to print a product identification code on each product; their existing ink jet equipment was unreliable and the codes non permanent.
Unlike ink jet printing, laser marking was 100% permanent and erased the problem of non permanent codes associated with ink jet printing; this was accepted by the Marketing Department due to increased contrast and print quality.
